MARK D. WOLFSKEHL:
SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEERING CONSULTANT

Mark D. Wolfskehl

Mark Wolfskehl founded Vibiance as a direct response to the growing need for companies working with more limited budgets, yet still with the same critical, software engineering requirements, to find ways to avoid expensive, long–term commitments. His solution is a consultancy designed to provide project–based software engineering services, and for a wide–range of applications. Programming is second nature to Dr. Wolfskehl, being largely self–taught from childhood. His formal education has included a B.A., an M.S., and a Ph.D., in computer science. His industry experience, ten–plus years, has covered a broad scope of work, including server development, multithreaded/distributed applications, and computation–intensive code.

Prior to Vibiance, Dr. Wolfskehl was Senior Software Engineer for Motorola where his achievements ranged from developing a guaranteed event delivery system which allowed for a centralized display of events over a major system with multiple servers, to the design and implementation of a "hot" configuration for a complex cable bandwidth system, which allowed for system reconfiguration with no lost time of system service. His professional experience leading to that includes positions as software developer for Travel Impressions, Ltd. (an American Express company), consultant for Rapac Network International; consultant for Applied Insurance Research; software engineer for Cyber Warrior, an online games development company; and programmer for CompuDoc, where he worked on an online remote presentation system in conjunction with AT&T.

At Travel Impressions Dr. Wolfskehl was particularly effective at reverse engineering, documenting the business rules driving their existing travel package pricing system’s complex and undocumented code base. At Applied Insurance Research, he was able to optimize the performance of an analytical system that computed high–volume, probabilistic insurance calculations, producing a prototype which reducing a portion of the system’s execution time by 50%. At Travel Impressions, his debugging skills with memory access bugs, memory leaks, and threading bugs found him called upon to solve problems other programmers were unable to fix. His experience at CompuDoc included tutoring graphic designers with varying levels of technical knowledge in coding skills, which gave him the experience of communicating technical knowledge to people with varying levels of experience in this regard.

Dr. Wolfskehl’s education includes his B.A. in computer science, with mathematics minor, from New York University, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science from Stevens Institute of Technology where he was also Teaching Assistant, then Adjunct Professor. His teaching credits also include time as Visiting Assistant Professor at Colgate University. Dr. Wolfskehl credits his teaching experience for his ability to be able to present technical ideas and communicate effectively and understandably to his clientele, no matter where on the technological spectrum their knowledge may fall.

Dr. Wolfskehl is known for his quick response; his upfront, easy–to–work–with manner; and his dogged determination to solve whatever technical challenge with which he is presented. Along with his unique skills and rare expertise, he brings an unfailing passion to his work, and a willingness to tackle even the most difficult of his clients’ software engineering challenges.
